What are the 11 districts in San Francisco?
San Francisco's 11 districts are its Board of Supervisors districts. Each district elects one of the 11 members of the Board of Supervisors, the city's legislature. The current lines were redrawn in 2022 after the 2020 census.
- District 1: Inner Richmond, Outer Richmond, Seacliff
- District 2: Marina, Pacific Heights, Presidio Heights, Presidio, Russian Hill
- District 3: Chinatown, North Beach, Nob Hill, Financial District/South Beach, Russian Hill
- District 4: Sunset/Parkside
- District 5: Haight Ashbury, Hayes Valley, Western Addition, Japantown, Tenderloin
- District 6: South of Market, Mission Bay, Financial District/South Beach, Treasure Island
- District 7: West of Twin Peaks, Inner Sunset, Lakeshore, Twin Peaks
- District 8: Castro/Upper Market, Noe Valley, Glen Park, Mission
- District 9: Mission, Bernal Heights, Portola
- District 10: Bayview Hunters Point, Potrero Hill, Visitacion Valley
- District 11: Excelsior, Outer Mission, Oceanview/Merced/Ingleside
Neighborhood lines and district lines do not match, so a neighborhood can fall in more than one district. Russian Hill is split between Districts 2 and 3, and parts of the Mission sit in four districts. The districts were drawn to hold roughly equal numbers of people as of the 2020 census. The latest Census Bureau estimates range from about 66,000 residents in District 2 to about 88,000 in District 5.
