What is the median household income in San Francisco?

The median household income in San Francisco was $139,801 in 2024, according to the Census Bureau's American Community Survey. Half of the city's households earned more than that, and half earned less.

The Census also publishes a 2020-2024 five-year estimate, which pools more survey responses and is the figure used for neighborhoods and ZIP codes. That estimate puts the city median at $140,970.
